On the obverse side of this coin, you will find – in English and in Afrikaans – "South Africa", along with a likeness of its first and only president, Paul Kruger.
Each coin is marked ½ Troy oz., its net gold weight, and its gold purity is 91.67%, or 22k. Since its inception, over 50 million ounces worth of the Gold Krugerrand have been sold. Still available for purchase, it is one of the most widely traded gold coins.
