1/4 oz Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin

Containing ¼ Troy ounce of .9999 pure gold, this Canadian Maple Leaf Gold Coin is backed by the government of Canada and carries a face value of $10 CAD.

The reverse side features the unmistakable sugar maple leaf, while the obverse side has a beautiful depiction of Queen Elizabeth II. Created by Susanna Blunt, this fourth-generation design captures her Majesty in right profile relief. Though the image created by Ms. Blunt debuted on 2005 Gold Maple Leaf Coins, it was originally created in 2003. In Queen Elizabeth II's reign, this design is the first to showcase a crown-free portrait. (There is no crown on the head of the Queen.)

Only the 1 oz. gold coin option of this design was offered from 1979 to 1982. Starting in November 1982, however, there would be four subsequent series expansions.
