The obverse side of each of these coins is identical. The reverse side, on the other hand, varies within the series. Found only in a particular area, a monument, national forest, or national Park image is featured on the reverse side of each coin. Within the country, a particular jurisdiction is represented.

Also found on circulation quarters, the reverse side of this coin features the standard portrait image of President George Washington in left profile.

Each coin is backed by the United States government for a face value of $0.25 USD and contains five troy oz of .999 pure silver.
