A series of ten-dollar gold modern coins have been minted to celebrate various points of history, individuals, etc. One such coin is the Gold Commen First Flight Centennial Proof. Minted at the West Point Mint, this coin contains .4838 ounces of actual gold weight. This United States Mint gold commemorative coin celebrates the Centennial of Wilbur and Orville Wright’s December 17, 1903 achievement – they successfully executed the first ever controlled, powered flight.

This coin is guaranteed by the United States mint and was minted in West Point. On the reverse side of the coin, at the bottom of the coin, you will see a North Carolina sand dune line. Featured here, seen from above are the American bald eagle and the 1903 Wright Flyer. On the obverse side of the coin, both facing the viewer, are Wilbur and Orville Wright in overlapping portraits.

The coin is 27 mm in diameter, 2.2 mm in thickness, and has a purity of .9000.
